Tallinn, Estonia

Last month I took advantage of a few days off and booked a short flight up to Tallinn, Estonia. A friend had some friends who live there and she put me in touch with them. They were out of the country at the moment, but they put me in touch with some of their church members and I am so glad they did. I had such a great time getting to know them and seeing the country from a local’s perspective. They made my trip so much more than it would have been otherwise.

And, I highly recommend Tallinn. It’s such a cute, walled medieval city! (And as a bonus, it’s just a short ferry ride across the sea to Helsinki, Finland!)

Some parts of the wall contained chairs and chests of books, as if someone had set up a mini library =)

St. Olaf’s church is incredibly tall. A fact you appreciate more the closer you get. Look how tall that window alone is.

My gracious hosts took me to an old abandoned monastery one of the days I was there. It was so neat to explore! (Paradise Monastery outside Tallinn)

It is. I definitely recommend it. A day or two would be enough time to see everything.
