Around Dublin pt 1

May 30, 2013

For a capital city, I was surprised at how small Dublin is!  It really is “walkable” as everyone says. Since we based our whole week out of Dublin, taking day trips but always coming back at night, we got to spend lots of time here. And we really enjoyed it. On one of the days we had free we took a free walking tour of Dublin and learned a lot of history as well as some more insight into the rift between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Everyone, including cabbies, was more than willing to throw in their perspective on things. It was interesting to hear all the different stories and sides.

Here are a few pictures from around Dublin:

One morning Monique and I set off to find a pharmacy and this is the view along the road to the pharmacy

Dublin Castle. Sadly my lens had a smudge on it and I didn’t notice until halfway through the day, so lots of the pics are smudged like this one. =(

I loved the bright pop of red against the grey stonework – sadly the tulips here were already dying.
