St. Croix, USVI

April 23, 2012

On Saturday night our ship, the Celebrity Summit, left port and headed to St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands. We arrived at port early on Sunday morning, and after getting ready for church, we disembarked and went to look for our ride to church. While we waited for her, I wandered around  near the port and took a few pictures:

After our ride showed up, we drove for a while before stopping to pick up another lady, and then continuing on to church, arriving just in time for Sunday School where the pastor played the accordian for a time of singing before he taught a lesson.

After a lively and enjoyable Easter service, we started back for the port. Dark clouds had started rolling in, and before we had made it very far, a rainstorm started up.

Thankfully we were inside the car, and not walking back to port like most of the others from the cruise ship. We saw them all headed back from the beach, towels around their shoulders, trying to stay somewhat out of the rain.

That night was our first formal dinner on the ship and we really enjoyed it. The food was amazing every night, and we had the most enjoyable dinner companions at our table! We really enjoyed talking with them each night, and sharing our stories and experiences from each country every day.

St. Croix was a pretty relaxing day for us, but the next day we arrived in port at Basseterre, St. Kitts for our first day of real exploring. =)

Happy Monday everyone!

Outside on a beautiful night
