St. Vincent and the Grenadines

In the past two posts we’ve looked at islands off of the coasts of Africa and Australia. Today’s tiny country is located in the Caribbean between St. Lucia and Grenada, and just to the west of Barbados. If you are looking for a Caribbean island with a fraction of the tourists that neighboring St. Lucia and Barbados get, try St. Vincent.

The country of St. Vincent – Grenadines (and often just referred to as “St. Vincent”)  is made up of primarily the island of St. Vincent, along with a portion of the Grenadine islands.

The country is also a Commonwealth nation, with Queen Elizabeth II holding the title of “Queen of St. Vincent and the Grenadines” (although the country is run by a governor since she obviously does not live there)
