New York Day one

April 18, 2011

Today we “slept in” and then tried to go find some antique stores for Katee. All the addresses we had for antique stores, however, led us to residential neighborhoods…and we decided we didn’t want to go up to the doors and ask them if they really were antique stores. So we decided to go to downtown Elmira and look around. Along the way we stopped in Montour Falls to see the falls.

My companions didn't like the photo with them in it, so all you get to see is me with the $7 sweatshirt I picked up on one of our Wal Mart trips =)

After Montour Falls we went to Watkins Glen and walked around. We had lunch right on the water at this really nice and very yummy restaurant. Since 3 of the people in our group have decided to go gluten free, I got to eat the WHOLE loaf of buttery, garlic bread that came with our meal (it was amazing!). So while everyone is hungry now, I am still nice and full. =)

So I'm actually in London, surprise! =)

Another waterfall we found. Sadly this park was closed so we couldn't get close enough to the falls to get a good picture.

On our way home from Watkins Glen, we stopped at the bus station to see if Katee’s luggage had come in. While she waited for the bus to arrive, Hannah and I walked over to see the beautiful old churches around the corner.

Katee’s luggage was on the bus, so she was very happy as we made our way home. Tomorrow is Geneva and Niagara Falls and then Wed we head to the city. =)

Antique stores, huh?! Does this mean you are being a devoted daughter & looking for license plates for your dad? Hee, hee, hee! 🙂
