Tim Tebow commercial controversy

February 5, 2010

So I’m sure you all have heard about the controversy over the upcoming Tim Tebow Super Bowl commercial. It’s been in the news for weeks and will undoubtably be the most watched commercial during the Super Bowl (I am sure it’s redactors will not be able to resist watching it even though they detest it so much) I think the Tebow’s story is so uplifting and inspiring, it’s amazing so many people are upset over the commercial. Well, I shouldn’t say it’s amazing. Those who make their millions off of abortions are not going to so easily let go of their cash cow, and that is not surprising. But it’s sad. They say they are for women’s rights and ‘choices’ but if that were really so, they would welcome this other side to the argument and realize that in order to make an intelligent, informed CHOICE, one needs to hear both sides of the argument. Forcing a woman into an unwanted abortion without presenting her with other options, such as adoption, is not giving her a choice at all.

And this commercial (though few know exactly what it will be) does not sound like it will have a huge pro-life push – although if it does that will be awesome. From what I have seen it sounds like it will be Mrs. Tebow telling her story of how her doctors recommended she abort Tim before she gave birth. What is so incendiary about that? To tell the story of one of college football’s most celebrated athletes? Who would be against that? But pro-“choice” groups are incensed.

The NARAL says  “It’s important that, as pro-choice Americans, we support every woman’s ability to make the decisions that are best for her and her family – but Focus on the Family wants to take options away from women”

Really? Yeah, Focus on the Family is really messing up women’s lives. While Planned Parenthood and the like are greatly enhancing them. Right. And even if that were so, at what cost? The cost of another life? That makes sense.

While you are waiting for the commercial to debut on Sunday, here’s a Super Bowl video from years gone by. Okay, less than 25 years ago (and we all know that 25 years is nothing, lol). Can you imagine if this was aired on national television TODAY? (I am not sure if this aired on television, or what is was used for, but it’s still interesting)

You have to be very patient, it takes forever to load. But it’s worth seeing!

Wow, that video was almost as offensive as Tim & Mom Tebow’s Super Bowl commercial.

The Tebow commercial wasn’t as great as I expected it to be.
