Col 1:10

May 10, 2008

I think this might be one of the verses that Miriam H sent out for our weekly verse, I can’t remember, but it’s so good! For some reason I keep ending up in Colossians when I do my devotions – maybe since there is a bookmark there and so it naturally opens to that spot. 🙂 Anyways, it says, “That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.” This whole chapter is so good. This is actually Paul talking to the church at Colosse and in the verse before he is telling the believers that he is praying for them – and then he says, “that ye may walk worthy…” Isn’t that awesome? He isn’t just praying for himself, he’s praying for the other believers too. Can we honestly say that we pray like that for other believers? That they will walk worthy of the Lord, and that they will constantly increase in the knowledge of God? Wow. Sometimes it’s hard enough just trying to do that in our own lives, but then to have a burden like that for others? It can sometimes be really discouraging to pray like that for others and then not see anything, but when you do see fruit, that is so awesome! Let’s get serious about walking “worthy” of the Lord and striving to constantly grow in our knowledge of Him!!! And let’s pray for our brothers and sisters too, who knows what God can do!
